 <note>Abstract. This research is motivated by the existence of social media which has now&#13;
become a culture of public consumption to meet their daily needs. This study aims to&#13;
the effectiveness of the use of social media as personal-social guidance and its effect on&#13;
the inculcation of religious values in society. The research approach uses quantitative&#13;
research with a survey method via mobile. The research was conducted in August -&#13;
September 2022 with locations in Gunungkidul City. The research sample of 100&#13;
respondents was taken through Multistage Random Sampling. Collecting data using&#13;
surveys via mobile, questionnaires, and interviews. Data analysis using a survey&#13;
application (alvara-analytic). The results of the study found that (1) people are&#13;
digitally literate and actively use social media as their daily needs; (2) effective&#13;
social media can be used as a medium or a way to guide self (personal) and other&#13;
people (social) in the community in instilling religious values. The results of this&#13;
study contribute as enrichment material regarding the cultivation of social mediabased religious values.&#13;
